Gold's Gym x Metcon Introduces Premier HYROX Training Hub in Manila |
Even though HYROX is still gaining popularity in the Philippines, it has already seen significant development throughout Asia, drawing large crowds to events in places like Taipei and Bangkok, making it one of the fitness competition formats in the area that is growing the fastest.
Gold's Gym x Metcon is a prime location for this emerging fitness trend in the Philippines. The new 750-square-meter facility, which is located on the third floor of the Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Taguig City, features specialized equipment and training areas specifically designed for HYROX preparation.
The owner of Gold's Gym Powered by Metcon, Edmundo Luis R. Vega, stated, "Gold's Gym x Metcon is bringing Manila to the forefront of the functional fitness competition scene with HYROX." "We've created a comprehensive training environment for this competition format, encompassing specialized equipment, coaching expertise, and our unique GRIN Method training system."
Running and functional exercises are combined in HYROX's standardized program, which consists of eight 1-kilometer runs separated by a different training station that includes wall balls, sled pushing, and rowing. In contrast to the constantly evolving CrossFit exercises, HYROX keeps a uniform structure across the globe, enabling results to be compared globally.
The foundation of the gym's HYROX preparation is the GRIN Method, a proprietary training program created by fitness specialist Anton Sietereales that has previously produced notable outcomes for professional athletes.
"The GRIN Method is specifically designed to prepare athletes for the particular requirements of HYROX," Sietereales said during the launch. "By fostering endurance, strength, and movement efficiency, we've devised a training approach that produces tangible results for both competitive athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike."
Justin Hernandez, the first male Filipino athlete to compete in the CrossFit Games and the Philippines' four-time CrossFit Open National Champion, is on the coaching staff. "I've witnessed how Filipino athletes shine in the blend of endurance and strength that HYROX requires," Hernandez stated. "Our aim is to cultivate a robust team of competitors right here who can make a significant impact at events across Asia."
The H-700 workout, a condensed yet powerful HYROX-style challenge that blends strength and endurance, was showcased during the media launch. Tinoy Borromeo and Mauro Lumba, two qualified GRIN Method Coaches, faced off in a timed competition.
The McKinley Hill location offers a variety of facilities, including the BOOMBOX boxing club, Cobrinha Manila Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club in the martial arts area, traditional strength equipment, functional fitness zones, and a premium recovery suite with ice baths and saunas for optimal performance and recovery, in addition to HYROX-specific training.
"Gold's Gym x Metcon is designed to be Manila's top-tier HYROX training club," Vega stated. "We've established an area where professional recuperation, functional fitness, and strength training all come together under one roof. This facility, which has an emphasis on performance at every level, is the solution to the needs of the fitness community.
Gold's Gym x Metcon is celebrating its inauguration by giving the first 50 members a limited-edition Founding Membership Package for just PHP8,500 per month.
