FWD Press Play Campaign Inspires Filipinos to Recommit Their Goals

FWD Life Insurance recently launched its newest campaign, Press play, to encourage people to pursue goals that have been put on hold due to personal difficulties, a lack of resources or time, or possibly the pandemic. The brand promise to celebrate living and FWD's DNA drove the press play. FWD spent over five months searching all over Asia for real people doing just that.

One of the six featured people is Filipina Pau Javier, who changed careers and began making pottery during the pandemic. In addition to pursuing her hobby, the former producer for independent films and television also founded Wabi-Sabi Studio with her sister. She now teaches pottery classes and markets her own works of art.

People featured in Press Play have reevaluated their lives and goals, made changes, and are happier as a result. Isn't that what we all want? According to a University of Basel study, working toward your goals can make you happier. According to the study, your psychological well-being can improve as long as you have attainable goals.

Setting goals gives us a sense of direction and control, boosts our confidence, and encourages us to explore aspects of life that we may not have previously considered. Are you willing to start over and set new goals? The five goals listed below are worth pressing play on.

1. Well-being and Health Goals

Healthy people exercise regularly and get enough sleep each night. Get moving for at least 30 to 60 minutes daily, and get 7 to 8 hours of sleep to help your mind and body recharge. Replace fatty meats with fish and nuts for healthy fats, and eat more plant-based foods. Maintain a healthy weight and a BMI of less than 25.

When stressed, your mental health will benefit if you try to spread happiness to those around you and seek the support of close friends and family. Talk to a professional and get assistance if you experience prolonged feelings of sadness that overwhelm you. Your overall well-being is also heavily influenced by your mental state. One way to achieve this is to not have to worry about your health. Buying health insurance is the best way to stop worrying about getting sick. It takes a heavy burden off your mind to know that if you become ill, you can focus more on your health and recovery.

2. Financial Goals

Enroll in money management classes. Spending, saving, earning, and investing are all part of it. Financial goals are required to create a household budget and clearly understand what you have and want. Create an emergency fund that can be used for simple (but expensive) things like roof repairs, a fender bender, and unplanned expenses like medical bills.

Speak with professionals, such as an FWD financial advisor, who can assist you in achieving financial well-being. It also pays to study and research money matters and investing tips to help your money grow even more. Experts can assist you in determining the type of investment that is best for you, and having their knowledge can help you concentrate on your objectives.

3. Family and Life Goals

Do activities with others and set a daily time limit for using electronics; it takes up more time than we realize or want to admit. Instead, get some exercise, take care of the house, spend time with family, visit your parents on a regular basis, and indeed be present when you're with them. Plan outings together; they don't have to be expensive; they could be day trips from town or museum visits. Learn to express your emotions and to listen to others. Encourage your spouse and children to follow suit. Participate in their lives more than you have previously.

4. Career Goals

Your career goal is where you want to be in your professional life. These goals can be short-term, such as receiving a raise for a job well done, or long-term, such as being promoted to the position you've always wanted, which requires more responsibility. Increase your involvement at work and participate in professional networking events to meet more people in your industry.

Enrolling in professional certification programs that will be useful if you decide to change careers in the future is a good idea. Data analytics, marketing, web design, languages, and the humanities are just a few of the online courses you should consider taking because they all focus on learning new skills. Working hard is essential because, as any financial adviser or career counselor will tell you, there are no shortcuts.

5. Happiness Goals

Although the term "happiness" can sometimes sound ambiguous, it can also be defined as "subjective well-being," which means evaluating or measuring your level of satisfaction in various aspects of your life. Happiness is defined as "the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one's life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile," according to Sonja Lyubomirsky, author of The How of Happiness and expert in positive psychology.

Regular self-care practices such as meditation, listening to music, taking a break, mindful eating and conversation, exercising outside, and other similar activities can assist you in achieving that state of well-being. You must schedule time for self-care, and it is helpful to list activities you can do throughout the day. When it comes to mindset, remember to always keep a positive attitude. Even if it's more complicated, a small conscious shift in perspective each day will get you there.

Setting goals allows us to achieve more in life, which increases our sense of accomplishment at work. Watch the FWD Press play video for inspiration.

Every day is a new chance to be happy, to live life to the fullest, to see things from a different perspective, and to get one step closer to our goals.

Let us begin working toward goals that will make our lives more enjoyable.
