Given Alfamart's objective of reaching 1200 stores by the end of 2021, this additional location is critical to the company's strategic expansion. Alfamart Philippines COO Harvey Ong noted, "Having a presence in Bataan offers us access to more markets in the western half of Central Luzon." "As with our previous branches, we hope to serve the people of Santa Rosa, Pilar, and the province of Bataan—to become a part of the community and contribute to its growth," he added. Two more outlets are expected to open in Bataan shortly.

Alfamart produces local employment opportunities, provides rental revenue for local lessors, consigns local products, and partners with local small companies seeking retail space, all in keeping with its aim to offer ripple effects of opportunity to the communities it serves. "Our strategy has always included mutual and inclusive growth. We provide opportunities to local entrepreneurs in exchange for their knowledge of the local market. And we apply what we've learned to see how we can better integrate ourselves into the community," he said.

Alfamart currently operates over 1,100 stores in Metro Manila and Luzon.
