TikTok Donates US$300,000 for Typhoon Victims in the Philippines (11/24/20)
Two destructive back-to-back typhoons struck the Philippines over the span of two weeks. The strongest typhoon ever recorded in recent history, Super Typhoon Rolly (Goni), hit the southern region of the Philippines on November 1st. It has impacted an estimated two million Filipinos, many of whom have lost their homes and livelihoods. Ten days later, Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco), including Metro Manila and parts of Central Luzon, swept through several of the same provinces previously battered by Typhoon Rolly, leaving widespread flooding and power outages.

Many regions continue to struggle to recover from the effects of these calamities. Homes and livelihoods were lost to flooding, powerful winds, and rain in several provinces. LGUs and other groups continue to organize and assist all those affected by the typhoons, but many are also urgently in need of assistance.
