Construction of Araneta Center’s Gateway Mall 2 Officially Commences |
Situated inside the Araneta Complex in Quezon City, the Gateway Mall 2 is poised to become a state-of-the-art hub for all kinds of shoppers. Among its amenities include a state-of-the-art Cineplex, an organic vegetable garden where people can have a farm-to-table experience, a food hall, mall activity area, and a 500-seater air-conditioned chapel.
Expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2020, the Gateway Mall 2 will be connected to the Smart Araneta Coliseum and Farmers Plaza, and will be adjacent to the yet-to-be-opened first Ibis Styles hotel in the country.
Present during the groundbreaking ceremony were Araneta Group officials and Megawide Corporation including SVP-Operations Mr. Antonio T. Mardo, SVP-Business Development Mr. John B. Castelo, VP-Leasing Ms. Lorna D. Fabian, VP-Materials Management Mr. Noel B. Leonor, Head of Architecture & Engineering Ms. Bernadette M. Tan, Senior Management Consultant Mr. Rowell Recinto, and Management Consultant-Architecture & Engineering Ms. Julie I. Castro, Megawide Construction Corporation AVP Mr. Romeo Furigay, and EVP Mr. Ronald Paulo.
According to Araneta Center Inc. SVP for Operations Mr. Mardo, the new mall complements the first Gateway Mall. “We needed more space to accommodate more of the retail and food and beverage operators in the country,” he said.
Binibining Pilipinas winners Miss Universe Philippines Catriona Gray, Binibining Pilipinas International Ma. Ahtisa Manalo, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational Jehza Huelar, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Eva Patalinjug, Binibining Pilipinas Globe Michele Gumabao, first runner-up Vickie Rushton and second runner-up Samantha Bernardo also graced the ceremony.
