Innovative Alliance Paves the Way for Accessible Healthcare for Modern-Day Heroes: Generika and Grab Join Forces to Benefit Riders and Drivers

Esma Ali, a brave Grab Food delivery partner, and Gerald Aldaya, a dependable MOVE IT bike partner, are like tens of thousands of their fellow Filipinos who brave traffic and bad weather to provide the best services to the people of the Philippines. Their health is the most important thing to them because it's what lets them work and support their families.

Grab, along with its moto-taxi partner MOVE IT and Generika Drugstore, which is part of the Ayala Healthcare Group, has formed a creative partnership. This partnership aims to give these modern heroes the gift of ginhawa, which is a medicine that is easy to get, of high quality, and doesn't cost a lot. This partnership not only recognizes the Grab community's hard work and commitment, but it also aims to help them take better care of themselves.

Grab and Generika Drugstore started working together in 2019 with the goal of creating MEDPadala, an e-gift card that can be used at any Generika Drugstore in the country. As part of their Grab incentives, MEDPadala lets Ali and Aldaya get the vitamins and drugs they need for themselves and their families without having to pay extra.

"Generika Drugstore and MOVE IT, thank you for MEDPadala," says Aldaya, who has been a rider-partner with MOVE IT for two years. This is a huge help to our family. Because we get this reward every month, I use it to buy vitamins for my kids and medicine for my wife.

Pilipinas Shell and Grab PH have teamed up in Cebu to promote mobility and on-demand delivery.

As a GrabFood delivery partner, Ali agrees, saying, "Not only is the purchasing process quick, but it's also convenient because I pass by many Generika Drugstores on my delivery routes."

Grab Philippines' Head of Operations, CJ Lacsican, says that the company will keep its promise to give its partner communities chances. "We are committed to helping our kababayans live in a healthy, sustainable, and affordable way." We're excited to work with Generika Drugstore to make it easier for people in the Grab community to get medical care. As it turns out, MEDPadala has become one of our partners' favorite perks.

Going forward, Grab, MOVE IT, and Generika Drugstore plan to expand their partnership, encouraging even more driver and rider groups to put their health and well-being first.

Atty. Yet Abarca, President and CEO of Generika Drugstore, says, "It's a great honor to provide affordable health care to the Grab and MOVE IT communities." We're happy to be a part of a significant partnership that helps our Grab drivers and MOVE IT users, who are very important to our communities. Through MEDPadala, we can give them peace of mind by making it easy for them to get the drugs they need to stay healthy or take care of sick family members.
