Hundreds of nominations were assessed by a multi-sectoral Board of Assessors during the tough selection process. Semi-finalists were subjected to interviews and, in the case of teachers, live teaching demonstrations. An eminent Board of Judges made the final decision.
The 2023 recipients have undertaken innovative programs in their respective institutions and spearheaded advocacy efforts that have benefited a wide range of groups. This year's teacher winners are bridging learning gaps in their communities, while the army and police officer awardees have made significant contributions to the lives of their colleagues and underserved populations.
Since 1985, 695 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos have been honored. The program is co-sponsored by the Department of Education, the Commission on Higher Education, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Philippine National Police.
