Led by Coach Benson and Coach Zoraion, the said gaming Bootcamp held at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall from April 26 to May 6 was participated by selected 20 players that were drafted among a number of applicants for the LoL semifinals.

Hailed as the winners of the Logitech G Bootcamp are Team Blue under Coach Zoraion with team members Richard Anderson, Patrick Medula, Jomel Buyan, John Carl and Jason Aleonunder. Bagging the second place are members of Coach Benson under Team Red which includes Gian Alejandro, Josh Alanante, Eduardo de Paz Jr., Kenneth Alejo, and Kim Califlores.

Each member of Team Blue is awarded with the Logitech G413 Carbon Mechanical Backlit Gaming Keyboard which is made with lightweight, aircraft-grade 5052 aluminum alloy. The said device also comes equipped with the Romer-G Tactile mechanical switch which promises the perfect blend of speed and quiet performance made possible with its short-throw actuation.

Meanwhile, second-placer Team Red went home with the G233 Prodigy Gaming Headset which marries immersive audio performance into a sleek, lightweight, and slim form. This gaming headset also has Pro-G drivers to produce booming bass and clear highs because of its hybrid-mesh construction that drastically reduces distortion.

Stories of the bootcamp

PGF 2019 has always been packed with esports players and enthusiasts. But the recent Summer Assembly had a rare sighting: one of the Logitech G Bootcamp finalists brought his mom and the entire family to cheer him on.

Emma Alejandro, mom of one of Team Red’s players supported and cheered for her youngest son for moving to the next round of the boot camp.

“I raised my hands because they won the elimination round… It was his first time that he had the chance to compete,” she said, pointing out that the entire family has always been supportive of each other’s endeavors.

Emma shared that Alejandro is only allowed to play computer games once he’s done with household chores and his homework. When he’s on a game, she regularly checks on his son just to see if he has already eaten his meal.

“If he doesn’t follow my rules, he is grounded. But Gian always did his tasks and his
She was also encouraged to support her son’s gaming interests when she saw how he saves up his baon to purchase his Logitech products.

“I saw his initiative to improve his gaming lifestyle. Gian is also an honor student. He never neglected his studies. Of course, I will support him,” she said.
“What makes gaming different from the older generation’s activities? It’s not different from basketball or chess… If gaming is his inclination, why would I stop him? It is his source of happiness,” she said.
“Gaming brings joy to him. But it also trains him to improve your decision-making, reflexes, among others. It can also contribute to his academic activities as it hones his problem-solving skills. Since it is usually a group game, he can even enhance his leadership skills.”

Emma also shared that she supports her son in pursuing his dream of becoming a gaming streamer.

“I will really encourage him to pursue his next goal. I will support him to improve his confidence, personality, and abilities… For me, academics is not the only important thing in life. My son’s gaming interests matter, too,” Mrs. Alejandro said.
