In a bid to further promote the beauty of Singapore, the Singapore Tourism Board and Spotify, the world's most popular music streaming subscription service have collaborated to launch the Beats of Singapore Campaign.

From March 8 until March 31, 2019, Spotify users in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam can discover and explore more of Singapore through different tracks in various playlists. All they have to do is log on to www.beatsofsingapore.com and participate in the campaign, where they can have the chance to win one month of Spotify premium. Weekly winners will also have six months' worth of Spotify premium subscription.

The Beats of Singapore campaign is also launched to connect visitors with Singaporeans through their unique passion and appreciation for music. In December, the first phase of the campaign showcased song recommendations reminiscent of favorite places and activities in Singapore in over 2,100 submissions over a three-month period.

Examples of tracks include "One Love" by Bob Marley & The Wailers which was associated with Arab Street, an area within Singapore where different races gather to celebrate the city's blend of history, culture, and arts. The song "Dance the Night Away" by TWICE was tagged at Singapore's East Coast Lagoon Food Village which was known for its wide food offerings from different countries.

The second phase of the Beats of Singapore campaign highlights talents and artists from four Southeast Asian countries including the Philippines' very own Up Dharma Down (UDD), with members of its band who admit enjoying listening to classics like Prefab Sprout’s “Appetite” while taking in the stunning view from the Henderson Waves Bridge.

“STB is thrilled to continue with the second phase of the Beats of Singapore campaign with Spotify, following a successful run in the campaign’s first phase in Singapore. In this phase, we aim to offer travelers an innovative way in which they can discover and rediscover Singapore. Through recommendations made by Singaporeans, as well as the specially-curated music playlists, we hope travelers will be inspired to find out more about Singapore and deepen their passions on this journey of discovery through music," said STB Philippines Area Director Lael Loh.
