Alfamart and Manila Catering have teamed up to create innovative Alfa Freeze Frozen Snacks

In conjunction with the Manila Catering Corporation, Alfamart, the Philippines' first and only Super Minimart chain, recently launched Alfa Freeze, a line of frozen delights available exclusively at Alfamart outlets (MCC).

Frozen Choco Banana, a sweet plantain dipped in chocolate and topped with marshmallows; Frozen Ube Banana, a saba dipped in ube chocolate and pinipig; Frozen Strawberry Banana, a saba dipped in strawberry chocolate and topped with rainbow sprinkles; and Frozen Cookies and Cream Banana, a saba dipped in cookies and cream chocolate and topped with rainbow sprinkles.

A collaboration with the MCC, one of the country's premier caterers, made the product possible. The family-run business of the Baron family has catered thousands of private events as well as delivering cuisine for institutional partners and airport lounges over the past 32 years.

Because of Alfamart's quick expansion, MCC Operations Manager Jamo Baron stated that they had been looking to partner with them since 2019. "We lucked upon Alfamart and saw how rapidly they were expanding," Baron explained. "We saw that as an opportunity and decided to try to work with Alfamart," he stated.

MCC referred to Alfamart as their "savior" throughout the outbreak. The catering industry was one of the hardest hurt by the ongoing quarantines. "Despite the pandemic and all the lockdowns," Baron observed, "they provided us the opportunity to begin a new cooperation." He added, "They also gave us a head start on focusing on food production by allowing us to make new goods for them and innovate as a team."

"We're excited for customers to try our new Alfa Freeze delicacies," said Cecille Sy, Alfamart Philippines' Senior Assistant Vice President. According to the firm, "our first foray into house-branded snacks is part of our aim to deliver affordable, high-quality things to the communities we serve." "We're hopeful that this enterprise will be a success so that we can keep developing more goods to please our customers," Sy added.

Alfamart has around 1100 stores, most of which are located in Central and Southern Luzon.
