| REX Brings Light to Innovative Learning at CONNECT PH 2019 |
The two-day seminar saw numerous breakout sessions with respected speakers for each talk. Among the topics highlighted on the first day include innovative instructional practices, digital migration, new transitions and integrations with emerging educational technologies, digital citizenship and empowerment, user engagement strategies, blended learning, new insights on student assessment, and educators’ perspective about EduTech and its impact on teaching practices.
The second day of the conference showcased a round-table discussion about best practices in classroom teaching with a learning management system (LMS) called Schoology, one of the learning solutions provided by REX to local schools.
The conference also saw paper presentations from keynote speakers including Tim Trinidad who discussed his dissertation entitled “Personalized Learning: A Game Changer for the 21st Century Education” and “Teaching the Holistic Child Through Technology” presented by Global EduTech Leadership Awardee Emie Baylon.
Schoology, which began in 2009, is a platform that aims to help young learners and education professionals to connect and collaborate to come up with new ideas for a digital learning community.
According to Schoology Co-founder and Engineering Lead Tim Trinidad, among the focus of Schoology is about holistic and personalized learning.
"We don’t just want to digitize existing pedagogies. We are creating solutions that allow teachers to use technology to easily move to more advanced strategies — such as personalized learning," Trinidad said.
