| Transcend Care Program, Metro World Child Ink Partnership to Aid Underprivileged Kids |
Through the said partnership, Transcend stays true to its commitment to igniting positive change and community involvement. In addition to the waived registration fee and marathon race kit, the collaboration with Metro World Child also saw Transcend furnishing the sponsored participants with Transcend premiums, a post-run Jollibee food party and a special award presentation on the Taiwan Excellence stage area.
According to Jimmy Chiang, Transcend Philippines Country Manager, the Transcend Care Program is intended to support the society and improve the well-being of people in need by partnering with community-based organizations.
“Knowing that what we are doing is bringing joy and happiness to the kids has been a reward in itself," added Chiang.
Children-beneficiaries of the partnership, in turn, expressed gratitude through handwritten notes at the end of the event. Some of the messages read; “Thank you for sponsoring us to join this wonderful event – Alfonso”, “I want to say thank you for giving us a big opportunity to attend this marathon. – Diva”, “We are so blessed. – Jannah”, and “It’s my first time to join a marathon so thank you so much for sponsoring us. – Jasten.”
Another highlight of the event is the turnover of the DrivePro Body 30 camera packed with a Sony Sony image sensor, six-axis image stabilization, 12-hour battery life, IP67-rated environmental sealing, and military-grade shock resistance to running enthusiast Zha Buenaflor which she will use to document her Davao International Marathon 2019 experience to inspire others.
